As the living Father hath sent me
Definitive question what does this mean? Why was He sent?
To communicate God’s divine life to humanity, to give the believer eternal life. Why is Jesus saying this here?
christ here is referring to the human position he takes before them, that is to say he was on earth speaking to them as a human, so “sent” here means I am here with you under the direction of my Father and not of my own will, and only as required to fulfill the Father’s plan.
He told them earlier in vv 29, that they should believe in Him whom God has sent; so to clarify that, he went ahead to tell them that He is the one whom God has sent. What does this imply? It means that God has sent Jesus to redeem us, there’s no redemption outside christ , He’s the only way to God.
And I live by the father So he that eateth me, even him shall live by me
What does this mean?
Christ’ life and the father is one, but christ’s is that of the son. Just as the living Father possess life in himself and as one with the Father so also the son possesses life in himself.
Eating christ means eating his words spiritually, believing by faith and obedience, that His sacrifice on the cross which is, his flesh was broken for us, and his blood was shed for us that we might have life.
Just as people accept physical food, eat it to nourish their bodies so must christ sacrifice on the cross be accepted and eaten. As the stomach assimilates physical food so must his word be spiritually assimilated into the hearts of believers.By feeding on his word, our spiritual man have its life from Christ. Why is he saying this here?
Jesus was trying to shift their attention from the physical and wanted for them to understand it spiritually. He sought to make them understand that the soul and spirit of man are far more important than the body. He says they should not seek for the food which can only nourish their physical bodies but should seek for the food that endures to eternal life.
what Jesus means by “to live” is the way God has lived from eternity, that is the God kind of life. So when we eat his word and assimilate it, it produces life eternal in us, because in Jesus is the life of God. In and through christ we can share in it as we “eat” Him, “the bread” of life our spiritual man have their life from Christ on which we live, by him we are continued, upheld and preserved till eternity. What does this imply-
The living Father lives in one, and by through one he gives himself to all. it is only when we constantly feed on christ that we can share in the life of God, and can possess the life of God without feeding on christ we can not have eternal life.

KeymasterGreat work Hilary.
I am pleased to see you making improvements as such.
Quick points:
Try to contextualize the observation of structure grammatical function. Eg as is the comparison subordinate clause….rather than saying it means subordinate to another, give the details of what clause in this verse it is subordinate to.
Look at the good job you did with the mordifiers. You did not just say it modifies something but you were precise about the part of the verse it modifies. This is what I mean by contextualizing. The purpose of structure is to see how different parts relate to each other so you should identify the parts that are relating to each other.Great steps already understanding the different phases of interpretation: definitive, rational and implicational.
Great work overall,
See you tomorrow!
