    Greetings all,

I usually plan reading through the OT once and the NT twice every year. I could not finish the OT last year! I have to finish and catch up for this year. I am currently in Psalms 86 and Acts 1.
In often have my devotional times in the morning. I start with time in prayer and then the Word.
In the Word, I start with RTB-1 schedule, just reading through the chapters I typically will have to read. I often ready about 2-3 chapters. I use Youversion during moments in the day that I have a spare moment to read more. Sometimes, I have an entire day of prayer, I will spend long hours reading the Bible and this is a good catch up time for me.
Distraction is the killer in reading through the Bible. You read, you find something interesting and then stop to study or read devotionals, etc. Focus and the discipline to stay on track are very important for me.
Once I read through, then it will be my moment to have a devotional time. I will share more and more on how I do this later.
One thing to note: remember that the goal here is not to commit to memory scriptures that you don to understand.
If you read a verse in your version that you do not know what it means, read it in the Amplified version or New Living Translation or other simply english version. That might be all you need for basic understanding.

We will be checking in to help keep us on track. Share what you are doing, what you find, where you are, what you are reading, questions, concerns, etc. Encourage, inspire and strengthen others.
The Lord is making me know that as many of you start paying attention to His Word, you will encounter Him in the scriptures in ways you never thought possible.
    Keep it up!
    Patrick
